Wilderness areas in Chelan County and in the Okanogan-Wenatchee Forest are open to the public once again. Chelan County Undersheriff Dan Ozment says the forest, Icicle River and structures in the area where Travis Decker, 32, was last known to have travelled have been checked and that the areas are safe for the public to travel as the hunt for the triple murderer enters its second week.
The Washington National Guard has been deployed to assist local authorities in the hunt for the Wenatchee man, suspected of killing his three young daughters.
"We're continuing to work with our neighboring agencies, not only here in the state, but across the nation to track down any new leads that we do get," said Sheriff Mike Morrison.
Sheriff Mike Morrison shared on social media that his office is grateful for the Governor allocating emergency funds to support search efforts with the assistance of National Guard resources.
