Two homes, three cabins, and 21 outbuildings in the upper Entiat Valley were destroyed by fire due to weekend activity on the Little Giant Fire.
Entiat Fire Chief Adam Jones and firefighters made the initial assessment Sunday and reported that trees, rolling debris, and other hazards continued to pose significant risks and limited their ability to complete a full assessment of the damage.
The Chelan county Assessor will complete a comprehensive damage assessment when conditions allow.
Chelan County Emergency Management will attempt to contact individual property owners.
Chelan County Sheriff’s Operations Services Chief Ryan Moody said Sunday night that the fire is highly active in the area and owners will be permitted to return to their properties as conditions are determined to be safe.
