Additional leadership positions and House committee assignments will be announced at a late date.  The 2025 legislative session will begin January 13 and is scheduled to run 105 days.

At the Wenatchee Convention Center, retiring State Rep. Joel Kretz has been named a Lifetime Supporter of Agriculture by the Washington Farm Bureau.

Kretz, a 7th District Republican who’s also a horse rancher in Wauconda, was one of four legislators honored for their work in agricultural issues.

Kretz did not seek reelection this year. His seat will be assumed in 2025 by Hunter Abell, a Republican from Inchelium, who won election in November.
