It happened at mid morning Monday, in broad daylight, a short-slim built man wearing a mask walks into the Chelan Safeway gas station store. When his debit card didn’t work in an effort to buy a few items, he placed his hand inside his shirt and demanded that the employee give him cash.
The clerk later told investigating Chelan County Sheriff’s deputies that they believed the man had a knife. No weapon was actually scene, still money in the till was handed over and the man left the store on foot.
Surveillance video shows him to be slim and about 5'6" tall.
Sheriff’s Chief Ryan Moody says deputies scoured the area, found some evidence, but didn’t find the robber.
Then, later in the day Monday, Chelan County Sheriff's deputies posted on Facebook that a man was caught on camera sneaking around private property in the Wenatchee area. Officers shared a clear color picture of what he looks like.
Anyone with information assisting in identifying the Chelan robbery suspect or Wenatchee man-of-interest, is asked to call 9-1-1.
