A 13-year old Wenatchee boy has been arrested and charged with murder, in the death of a 42-year old woman, whose body was found behind a south Wenatchee business on May 30.

Wenatchee Police detectives revealed in court documents, obtained by the Wenatchee World, that police used surveillance video around the crime scene, and found weapons and other items, including a notebook, at the boy’s homes in Wenatchee and Malaga.

The juvenile was taken into custody inside the Wenatchee Library on Friday.

Police recovered a note folded in the boy’s pocket that allegedly read “I killed a woman by the tracks and Set all the fires” and was signed “the shadow killer.” A notebook recovered by police included a list of items that police later recovered as evidence, including gloves and a knife. Those items and clothing are being analyzed by the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab.

An autopsy confirmed that the woman was killed by “multiple stab/puncture wounds.” She was identified by police as Cassondra Andrews-Huff of Wenatchee.

The boy is being held in juvenile custody under one-million dollars bail.
