Three additional suspects arrested in Chelan Hills Fire arson investigation

Douglas County Sheriff’s detectives, with assistance from U.S. Marshals agents on Thursday arrested three additional accused arson suspects. Mark Okhrimchik, 19, of University Place, Julian Mikityuk, 19, Pacific, and Valentin Tabunscic, 18, of Tacoma were taken into custody. They're being held on suspicion of manslaughter, arson and assault. The charges stem from the fire consuming the truck of an Orondo man which led to the man's death, and the harm posed to six firefighters.

A court appearance on Thursday for Michael Yakimov, 18, charged with manslaughter, arson and assault for his alleged involvement in the fire. He's the first man accused of sparking the Chelan Hills Fire on July 4, that blacked 10,000 acres, destroyed homes and property. He pleaded not guilty before a Douglas County judge.

The men are believed to have fired aerial fireworks from the back of a pickup truck sparking the Chelan Hills, McNeil Canyon fire.
