Three large rocks sloughed off a roadside hill and onto Sleepy Hollow Road, about three-quarters of a mile west of Sleepy Hollow Heights, outside of Wenatchee, Wednesday morning.
Chelan County Public works posted on Facebook, "How do you know spring has come in Chelan County? The rocks tell us!"
Chelan County spokeswoman Jill FitzSimmons says this happens when melting snow makes the ground wet then freezes, and thawing forces the large rocks to loosen.
Public Works crews spent two hours moving the large rocks off to the side of the road, one, about the size of a car.
The county advises drivers to be vigilante for rock slides and to report any road hazards.
