Primary election results show split support for Chelan County Commissioner and state house seat

UPDATE, Thursday, Aug.6, Additional ballots from the primary election on Tuesday have been counted.

Chelan County Commissioner Shon Smith now leads challenger Clint Strand by 10 votes. Both will face off in the November general election.

12^th District Washington State Rep. Brian Burnett maintains a lead, now at 108 votes, over Democrat Stacy Willoughby.

Tuesday’s primary election ballot counts gave an insight into who will face-off in the November 3 general election.

Congresswoman Kim Schrier will be challenged by either Spencer Meline or Tinh Ha, with Meline holding a slim seven-vote lead in the top-two candidate primary after initial ballot counts.

Congressman Michael Baumgartner will face Carmela Conroy in the general election.

Yakima County Commissioner Amanda McKinney will face Jack Duresky for the chance to succeed Congressman Dan Newhouse.

For the right to represent the 12th Washington Legislative District, Rep. Brian Burnett is in a dead heat with Democrat challenger Stacy Willoughby. Willoughby holding a 46-vote lead in the first primary election count.

Rep. Mike Steele will take on Democrat Maggie Adams in November.

Alex Ybarra is the new State Senator representing the 13^th district. Tom Dent will face Jerry Garcia. Deanna Martinez vs Joshua Thompson in the race to succeed Ybarra in the State House.

State Senator Shelly Short will take on Ronald McCoy.

Leavenworth City Councilman Clint Strand posing a strong challenge to Chelan County Commissioner Shon Smith. Both will face each other again in November.

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison received 75% of the primary vote against challenger, Stan Langlow.

It will be Rick Viall and Doug Miller in the race for Chelan County Treasurer.

For Chelan County Assessor, Britini Port leads Assessor Wes Cornelius.

Brian Brett gathered a lead of 2,998 votes on Auditor Brandt Cappell.

It will be Sandra Arechiga and Marty Young for Chelan County Clerk.

In Douglas County, Commissioner Marc Straub received 77% of the vote and will run against Michael Lesky again in the general election.

Sheriff Tyler Caille will be challenged by Adam Musgrove.

The Three Rivers Hospital one-year tax levy won approval, as did the Douglas-Okanogan Fire District 15 EMS levy.

In Okanogan County, finalists are Jon Neal and Trinity Stucker for county commissioner. Sheriff Jodie Barcus gained 67% of the primary vote against challenger Giz Gonzalez.

The city of Pateros EMS levy was approved.

Oroville Schools won approval of a replacement education and operations tax.
