A brand new home for RiverCom911 is in the works. The new telecommunications dispatch center will be built at the corner of 5th street NE and North Lyle Ave. in East Wenatchee.

RiverCom Director Doug Jones said the purchase of property and future construction of a new emergency police and fire dispatch facility is, “a milestone in RiverCom’s ongoing commitment to enhancing emergency response services for the communities of Chelan and Douglas counties.”

RiverCom currently operates from the 3rd floor of the Wenatchee Police Department.

A study indicated that the dispatch center had out grown its space.

The new location in East Wenatchee was chosen for its accessibility, potential for future growth, and optimal conditions for radio communications throughout the region.

“We are pleased to take this first step toward a new RiverCom facility for our region,” said Jones. “The RiverCom board is committed to creating a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as a hub for emergency communications and coordination for decades to come in service to our valued communities.”

The 12 acre parcel was purchased for $1.4 million
