Lake Chelan shoreline under a wildland fire evacuation advisory

Protective evacuation advisories from the moving Little Giant wildland fire burning on the south shore of Lake Chelan, remain in place Monday morning, ahead of a new fire incident management update.

The fire burning on the south shore of Lake Chelan and more generally west of Entiat jumped from the area of Little Big Creek across the lake to Safety Harbor on Saturday. The fire at last count had burned an estimated 51,298 acres as of Monday, more than what was burned in the Pioneer Fire (38,735 acres) on the lake’s north shore in 2024.

Chelan County Sheriff's Emergency Management has issued a Level 3 “Go Now” Fire Evacuation for Lake Chelan South Shore including South Lakeshore Road from 25 Mile Creek to Fields Point.

“Current conditions present a specific and immediate threat to the life and safety of persons within this area,” said Emergency Management Supervisor, Sgt. Jason Reinfeld.

A Level 2 “Get Ready” Fire Evacuation advisory for the remaining Lake Chelan South Shore area from Fields Point to Kellys Bypass Road.

Specific areas of the north shore were placed under evacuation advisories as well.
