Goodwill shared at first-ever meeting of Manson Council and Colville Tribe

The Manson Community Council met with members of the Colville Tribal Government Committee in Nespelem on Thursday. 


Described as a goodwill meeting with discussion focused on issues of mutual interest, including traffic, growth, tourism, long-term planning efforts, and the potential Manson incorporation, including an Incorporation Feasibility Study. The groups also shared the need for affordable housing and how to balance growth.


The Manson Community Council presented the Colville Committee with fresh apple cider from Manson Growers Cider Press. In return, the Colville Tribes shared a history of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation along with a variety of tribal mementos.


The Manson Community Council said upon their return from the meeting that they appreciated the opportunity to build stronger relationships with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.
