The Douglas County Board of Commissioners announced Wednesday the appointment of Tyler Caille as the Interim Douglas County Sheriff, effective March 1.
Caille will serve the remainder of the unexpired term of Kevin Morris, who will retire at the end of the month. The current term will conclude at the end of the year. Caille is a candidate for sheriff on the November ballot.
"The appointment of Caille was made to maintain consistency and create the least amount of disruption to the organization of the office," stated the commissioners in a press release.
Caille has been in Law Enforcement for over 20 years and currently serves as a Douglas County Undersheriff.
A retirement celebration for Sheriff Morris is planned for 10:00 a.m., February 26 at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at 100 19th St NW in East Wenatchee. The public is invited to attend.
