A woman was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend at a home in the 4000 block of 40th Circle NE in East Wenatchee Tuesday morning.

RiverCom dispatchers had been told that a woman was injured in the neck and that the suspect had fled the scene in an SUV, later crashing the vehicle in the area of Ski View Drive.

A man matching the suspect’s description was seen by first responders crossing a street and entering a ravine north of 19th Street NE.

Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies caught up with the man, who matched the description of the suspect.  Mitchell Figueroa‑Ibarra, 32, of Wenatchee    was taken into custody without incident for assault, robbery, and theft of a motor vehicle.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Her identity and condition were not made public.

Douglas County Sheriff Tyler Caille says detectives are continuing to follow up on additional information, which may result in further charges.

It’s deeply concerning to hear about the stabbing incident in Douglas County. Such violent acts remind us how important community safety and vigilance are. Kudos to the deputies for their swift response and making the arrest, which hopefully brings some peace to the victim and her family. Situations like this highlight the need for awareness and support systems to prevent such tragedies. On a lighter note, while focusing on safety, I’ve also been exploring creative hobbies to stay positive—like getting custom designs from the best embroidery digitizing services, which is a fun way to express yourself and relieve stress.
