Communication and business disruptions from the cyber attack on the Chelan County internet and phone networks enters its second week.

The county has assured that at this time no personal information has been breached of people doing business with the county. Details on the source or cause of the illicit intervention have not been made public.

"We're willing to be a liaison and assist in any way possible," said Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison. "We recognize this is falling beneath the Board of County Commissioners and (county) IT department. We've put them in touch with points of contact with federal agencies that have a lot more resources and a longer reach to help them if needed."

"I'm not sure of the extent of what's caused our breach," added Morrison. "I know the county has been working with our insurance company and some of their investigators. We've put them in touch with federal resources that can pursue criminal (charges) if needed."

The county invites residents to visit their offices in-person at the Chelan County Courthouse, or to receive information off of the Chelan County Government Facebook page.
