A Brewster man has been named by Chelan County Sheriff’s detectives as being responsible for setting a fire at a Chelan home that killed two people last August 21.

Sheriff’s Chief of Special Operations Ryan Moody said Tuesday that Jason Glandon, 41, was responsible for igniting the fire at 418 E. Woodin Ave. that led to the deaths of Michael Tappe, 67, and Nada Davidson, 63. Two others inside the home at the time of the fire were injured. Five other occupants escaped unhurt.

Moody said detectives identified Glandon as the suspect. It was four days later that Brewster Police located Glandon, deceased, from a deep vein thrombosis, with the back of his legs showing signs of severe burns as though he was turned away from a fire or explosion.

A follow-up investigation following Glandon's death, produced evidence that concluded that Glandon intentionally set the fire.

I find Granny Game fire horrific, especially knowing that it was deliberately set. I wonder what measures the Chelan community can take to prevent similar incidents in the future? This is a thought-provoking issue regarding security and social oversight.
