Bridgeport teen arrested in alleged murder of East Wenatchee man found along US97

A 16-year old boy has been arrested in the alleged murder of a man found dead in his vehicle along U.S. Highway 97 in Orondo Wednesday afternoon.

Douglas County Undersheriff Tyler Caille says sheriff’s detectives and officers of the Columbia River Drug Task Force, Grant County Drug Enforcement Team and East Cascade SWAT searched a home on Columbia Avenue in Bridgeport and took the teen into custody Thursday. The youth has been charged with second degree murder.

Caille says the victim, found in his vehicle alongside the highway, south of the Beebe Bridge, appeared to have suffered more than one gunshot wound.

Detectives have released the identity of the victim as Adnan Abouammo, 68, of East Wenatchee.

The investigation into the homicide continues. The identity of the juvenile won't be made public. The name of the victim hasn't been release by the Douglas County Coroner.
