A northwest and countrywide manhunt continues for the Wenatchee man accused of murdering his three young daughters, after taking them for a three hour visitation on Friday.
Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison said at a press conference on the continued search for Travis Decker, 32, that detectives will not rest until the suspect is found.
"Travis, if you're listening, this is your opportunity to turn yourself in," said Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison at a press conference on the steps of the Chelan county Courthouse Tuesday night. " Do the right thing, do what you need to do and take accountability for your actions. We're not going to go away, we're not going to rest and we're going to make sure we find you. You will be brought to justice, these young ladies deserve it."
Decker had taken the girls, ages 9, 8 and 5 to the Rock Island Campground, west of Leavenworth, where court documents reveal that he suffocated them by tying their wrists and placing plastic bags over their heads.
"We were able to an extensive processing of the scene," the Sheriff added. "We are not done searching. We will not rest until Travis is located. Nothing is off the table. We will actively pursue him. We are searching anywhere and everywhere for him."
Decker is described as having black hair and brown eyes, 5-feet-eight-inches tall, weighing 190 pounds. If you believe you know his current whereabouts are asked to call 911. There is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to his apprehension.
"I mean this tremendously, where we figure out things together, we really can come together, with our deputies, sheriffs, our officers," said Wenatchee Mayor Mike Poirier at a meeting with Chelan County Commissioners late Tuesday morning. "Although it is a tragedy, it is a good thing that we get together. We're reaching out to our police department, our detectives, how we can support them."
"Work as a team, and that support will continue on for quite a while," added Chelan county Commissioner Shon Smith.
A prayer and vigil for the girls, and effected family members was held at Memorial Park Tuesday.
