A potential break in the nearly four month old manhunt for a man believed to have murdered his three daughters in late May.

Chelan County Sheriff’s Operations Chief Ryan Moody reported late Thursday that the continued search for Travis Decker, led by the U.S. Marshals' Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force and involving Sheriff’s detectives located human remains in a remote wooded area south of Leavenworth.

Chief Moody says while positive identifications of the remains have not been confirmed, preliminary findings suggest they are that of Decker.

DNA evidence from the scene and that of Decker is being analyzed. The site of the remains is being processed by detectives and the State Patrol crime scene response team.

An investigation by Sheriff’s detectives in a report of harassing threats.

Comments made on social media of having a family’s children shot at school.

The citizen making the report to deputies said they had responded to a post made by someone who appeared to be celebrating the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The Sheriff’s Office says through their investigation it’s alleged that Casey Garrison, 40, of Wenatchee made the original post and then wrote to the person that responded by saying, "You’re right, the next time your kids go to school, I will make sure they die of gun shooting. Good riddance”. Other comments consisted of, “Death will always find you, there is going to be another”, and “Remember Matthew Shephard? I want them to feel his pain. Make them feel it. If you challenge me on this, maybe it’s your child that gets shot in the head with a gun. If you disagree, death comes for u”

With the assistance of the Colombia River Drug Task Force and the East Cascade SWAT Team, Garrison was taken into custody at a residence in the 300 block of Palouse Street. He was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center for violations of harassment threats to kill and making bomb threats.
