Chelan County has commissioned a comprehensive study on the impacts of tourism.

BERK Consulting is conducting research, providing analysis and developing a comprehensive report with recommendations for how to enhance the positive impacts of tourism while mitigating its negative effects. The study looks at the impacts of tourism on local jobs and businesses, tax receipts and public services, the natural environment, and Chelan County communities.

Chelan County residents and business owners are encouraged to share their perceptions and experiences with tourism by completing a brief online survey.

To date, BERK Consulting has conducted key community stakeholder interviews; held stakeholder meetings in Chelan, Leavenworth, and Wenatchee; and gathered research to develop initial impact analysis. These efforts have been informed by a dedicated steering committee.

Promoting the Lake Chelan tourism economy is the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce, which writes on their website:

The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce exists to drive economic growth through leadership, advocacy, and promotion that enhances the quality of life in the Lake Chelan Valley.

We also operate the Lake Chelan Visitor Center, responding to over 75,000 direct inquiries each year.

Our organization has been in operation since 1931 and serves over 400 members. As the Lake Chelan Valley’s Chamber of Commerce, our core value is our membership, but our passion is strengthening our community. We work tirelessly to support youth scholarships and athletics, create and host local events to drive commerce to our beautiful valley.  We support our members by advocating for small businesses at all levels of government, providing social networking opportunities among members, publishing communications that highlight members and community issues, and offering business education opportunities.

In the neighboring north shore community of Manson, the Manson Chamber of Commerce is organized to cultivate economic growth and vitality by providing opportunities and support for businesses and the community to prosper.

Their mission, to support and assist our community members to successfully grow both now and in the future.

In the heart of our valley are 3 small neighboring fishing and water sport lakes for those looking for a tranquil escape. Manson is home to more than 24 wineries, breweries and cideries. If you are looking for breathtaking views, back roads for hiking, small tasting rooms within walking distance of town or vast vineyards and orchards, there is an experience for everyone in every season.
