[3/17/22] Water To Chelan Airport Getting Closer

Here’s an issue that’s been talked about for years: water to the Chelan airport. Someday that will happen, it’s thought. Last year money was put into the state budget to pay for that, and Chelan Mayor Bob Goedde says they’ve received some news about that money:

Mayor Goedde says that’s one part of the plan to strengthen the city’s proposal to the Federal Aviation Administration for expansion of the airport:

The mayor says they’re waiting for Kenmore Air to get the approval to start flying people over from Boeing Field; the city has also asked for letters from Chelan County and the Colville Tribes Economic Development Committee to send to the FAA in favor of the airport expansion. But first comes the water, and for that the money has to get flowing. Whether the 5-point-7 million dollars is enough to get it done without tapping reserves is the big question:
