An early Monday morning house fire on the south shore of Lake Chelan destroyed a summer vacation home then spotted about a quarter mile down lake, threatening to grow into the first Chelan Valley wildland fire of the season.

It took just a little over 2-hours to wrap up the structure fire and the resulting brush fire.
Firefighters remained on the scene through early afternoon making sure there weren’t any flare ups.
