[12/17/15] PUD Commissioners Seek Input

Posted in Public UtilityTagged

Chelan County PUD Commissioners have invited customer owners to submit new Public Power Benefit proposals for future projects to be considered during budgeting for 2017 and beyond.

This comes just after commissioners unanimously approved the 2016 budget last week.

The Public Power Benefit Program is a long term list that resulted from a strategic planning effort in 2014 – designed to provide formal and consistent approach for how to distribute the electrical revenues to further enhance the quality of life in Chelan County.

Jeff Smith is the Managing Director for Distribution Services for Chelan County PUD. He says that in 2014 the PUD asked for proposals and received more than 1100 suggestions kicking off the Public Power Benefit Program…

Now, Smith says, the PUD is planning for 2017 and asking for public input for a new list of projects…

People who are interested in submitting a proposal application should first consider the criteria, explains Smith….

The next step will have PUD officials taking a look at all proposals submitted previously as well as the new proposals and making a decision for 2017.

You can find a proposal application online at

The deadline is Monday, January 4th, 2016.
