A home invasion in Yakima early Sunday morning has left an intruder dead. Yakima Police say the incident took place just after 2AM on Sunday when officers were called to a shooting the 1100 block of East Beech street. On their arrival the found a 29 year old dead man in the back yard of the home. According to police two men in the home say an intruder came to their door armed with a firearm and started a fight. During that struggle one of the men in the home armed himself and shot the intruder who later died and has not been identified. Police say the shooting happened at 2:05 am Sunday in the 1100 block of East Beech Street. Officers were called for a shooting and when they arrived they found a 29-year-old man dead in the back yard of the home. Authorities investigating the shooting interviewed the two men in the house, they were released while the investigation continues. Once complete, the detectives report will be forwarded to the Yakima County Prosecutors Office for review. No word from police on whether or not the shooting was justified, that will be decided by the Yakima Prosecutor.
