There's no reason to says there's nothing to do in Chelan this weekend, because Winterfest is back! It gets underway tonight (Fri) at 5 p.m., and Jill Babcock with the Lake Chelan Chamber says it's going to be busy:
One of the most popular things about Winterfest is the ice sculptures around town, and Babcock says they'll be back:
Of course, on Saturday Don Morse Park will be a center of activity, with the Polar Bear Plunge, the Christmas Tree Bonfire at 6 pm, and fireworks at 6:30. There's music on the main stage on Woodin Avenue all day, along with the ice slide on Emerson next to Riverwalk Park, the Ice Bar, the Wine Walk, the Vendor Market and Apple Bin rides. As we've said, it's going to be busy with lots of people in town, so Babcock says be patient:
And as she said, the website is going to be your best friend to keep up on what's happening, that's lakechelanwinterfest.com.
A reminder of the road closures: the 200 block of East Woodin is closed through Sunday at midnight, tomorrow East Woodin will be closed from North Columbia to North Sanders starting at 6 am, and that includes North and South Emerson and South Emerson from Wapato to Okanogan.
