A head-on collision near Othello claimed the lives of three individuals late Saturday night.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on SR 26, approximately 10 miles west of Othello. Reports indicate that a 2000 Nissan Frontier, driven by Homero Vicente Victoriano, 30, from Royal City, was traveling eastbound on SR 26 when it veered across the center line and collided with a 2004 Chevy Classic, operated by 78 year old Eloy Romero Serrano.
Serrano and two passengers in his vehicle, Jesus Perez Escamilla, 21, from Tlalixtaquilla de Maldonado, Mexico, and Antonia Rodrigues Barragan, 63, from Royal City, were pronounced deceased at the accident site.
Investigations conducted by the authorities revealed that Vicente Victoriano was operating his vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, making him potentially liable to face felony charges. He sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland for medical treatment..
