STEELE ON BENEFITS OF WINTERFEST

Week one of Winterfest 2023 is over, and it was a busy weekend in Chelan, with the music, the Ice Bar, the vendor market and the ice sculptures all getting attention, and plenty of people downtown, most of whom were carrying empty wine glasses as they walked down the sidewalk. Then there was a great fireworks show at Don Morse Park. Probably happiest about week one of Winterfest is Lake Chelan Chamber Executive Director Mike Steele, who says the benefits of Winterfest run in several directions. First, in promoting Chelan as more than a summer tourist destination:





But perhaps the biggest benefit comes to the businesses in the area, keeping them going through what is otherwise a pretty lean economic season:





Now, the scene shifts to Manson for Winterfest Week Two.
