SPEED LIMIT COMING INTO TOWN GOING DOWN

If you're driving into Chelan on Highway 97A, prepare to slow down in the future, even more than you slow down now. The state is making plans to lower the speed limit coming into town, and Chelan City Administrator Wade Farris says the city council will vote on it:

Farris says the change in the speed limit is for safety reasons, he says the state has done some studies and feels 25 is a better speed; it will be a full-time change, 25 miles an hour. The state asked the city to pass an ordinance agreeing with the change, the city has really no say in the matter, since it is the state's road. So your brakes are going to get a little more work in town.
