New Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison made his first official appearance before the Chelan City Council Tuesday night, and covered a lot of ground, including a rundown of appointments to his administration and command staff, any vacancies in his staff, use of the sheriff's academy, which has been reinstated after some controversy, scheduling for the tourist season, and the plans covering Chelan and the marine patrol:
The Sheriff was asked if he'd be submitting a new budget request to the city for the new deputies, and Morrison said no, that he's just reassigning resources he already has:
Morrison says they'll hold a meeting on April 2nd to discuss some of the other hazards that have been happening on the waterways, he says the six fatalities that occurred last year is something they don't want to see duplicated.
