The Chelan County PUD has started its series of snowpack studies to determine its size and how we're looking for water this summer. Early estimates puts the snowpack at 80 percent of normal, according to the PUD's Energy Analyst John Wasnewski:
That 80 percent number had some saying the word “drought,” and that we could be in for one this summer, but Wasnewski says there's still plenty of time for that 80 percent figure to climb higher:
And Wasnewski says he's not worried about either the snowpack or about refilling Lake Chelan this spring:
