Today is Presidents Day. It's designated by the Federal Government as Washington's Birthday, but since it was moved to the third Monday of February back in 1971, it's generally known as Presidents Day – and there's no apostrophe in “Presidents.” So, what's closed today? There's no school, no mail delivery, banks are closed, since Presidents Day is a holiday in the Federal Reserve system. Stock markets and brokerages are closed. Government Offices are closed.
Though there is no mail delivery, FedEx and UPS will make pickups and deliveries today. Most retailers, including Walmart, Costco and Target are open today, so are most grocery stores, as are most restaurants.
