Another good news/bad news employment report for November in Chelan and Douglas Counties. The bad news included a higher jobless figure and a lower regional labor force. Regional Labor Economist Don Meseck:
It's a baffling dichotomy where the labor force shrunk by 122 residents between the two Novembers, but the number of jobs has risen:
But the number of jobs has risen, so Meseck calls the November report a mixed bag:
The 5-point-1 percent jobless rate for November is up from October's 3-point-6 percent, and higher than the 4-point-4 percent rate of November 2021.
