About a block away from our KOZI studios, the new headquarters for North Cascades Bank has been going up over the last couple of years, and they're in the home stretch of finishing the building. North Cascades President Charlie Gilder:

And moving everything – staff, equipment and money – is being planned like a military operation:

The new bank – which is in the location of the old bank headquarters – will have two drive-thru lanes, which Gilder says was a change from the original plans, because of the popularity of the drive-throughs during the COVID pandemic. Originally the plans called for one drive-though and one ATM lane, but what later changed to two drive-throughs. Gilder says customers have been patient through the construction, but he had special appreciation for the employees:

Opening day for the new bank is set for Monday the 31st, and they'll celebrate with a barbecue and a hot dog for anyone who comes by; customers will be getting gifts the first week, and a grand opening is set for mid-September.
