Saturday is the day a lot of people have been waiting for, particularly the Chelan County Public Utility District. It's the grand opening of their new service center and headquarters in Olds Station. The PUD's Rachel Hansen:

The PUD's Shared Services Director Dan Frazier has been in on the new service center since the planning stages:

The new building has been in operation for about a week, Frazier says getting to the point of the initial move-in was, in his words, “surreal:”

Hansen says one benefit to bringing all PUD staff in one place is the collaborative process, and she says that's already happening, even in these early stages:

The grand opening is set for tomorrow between 10 and 2; Hansen says there's going to be a lot going on:

She adds that the PUD's old headquarters on Fifth Street in Wenatchee is closing, so the new building in Olds Station is where to pay bills and do PUD business; and also to eat – a new cafe, Jerrold's, has opened there for breakfast and lunch.
