You remember that semi-truck accident last Friday morning on McNeil Canyon Road that sent the driver to the hospital? Well, Chelan Fire and Rescue used some new equipment to extricate the driver. Chelan Fire District 7 Commissioner Russ Jones said the comments he heard from the crews who worked that incident confirmed to him that purchasing the new tools was a good decision:
That new equipment is cordless, which replaced hydraulic equipment that required cords and pumps. On other equipment, Jones says improvements are being made to the district's boat:
Assistant Fire Chief Shawn Sherman said they were busy in June, with a record number of calls; Jones noted there were 16 emergency calls on the water last month.
