NEW BUOYS IN THE LAKE ARE WORKING

It's been several weeks since new buoys were installed on Lake Chelan, marking the no-wake zone. How have they been working in settling things down? Chelan County Sheriff's Sergeant Rob Huddleston:



The sheriff's office and the city together purchased the new buoys several months ago; the new buoys are further out than the old buoys were; they were moved closer to shore a few years ago, and resulted in some interactions between boaters and non-motorized lake users, paddleboarders, kayakers and the like.
