MANSON FIRE TO CONSIDER VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS AGREEMENT

The Manson Fire Department is planning to adopt a resolution and put an agreement in place that would define the status of a volunteer. Manson Fire Chief Arnold Baker says the reason for it is to avoid a situation that could put the department into legal liability with a volunteer's status. Baker says it stems from a case in Mason County:



So to avoid the courtroom, Manson Fire volunteers will have to sign an agreement that will state the limits of being a volunteer:



That resolution will be put before fire commissioners at their meeting next month; it was supposed to be considered at their meeting two weeks ago, but it was tabled to give new fire commissioner Chris Willoughby a chance to review the resolution.
