MANSON FIRE AND DNR GRANT FOR NEW ENGINE

We told you Monday about the levy the Manson Fire Department is planning for next year, and we may have confused the issue about the fire truck the department is planning to order. That truck is very expensive, and the department has been saving for that; still, they need to have that levy pass to be able to pay for it.

But we also mentioned another truck that the department already got a state grant for. Here's Manson Fire Chief Arnold Baker:

So we wanted to straighten out the two trucks. One they've purchased, the other they're hoping for with passage of the levy next year.

On another note, Manson Fire is still offering smoke alarms, if you've had a smoke alarm for ten years, it's time to get it replaced because the sensor may no longer work, even though the alarm sounds. They've just got a shipment of new smoke alarms from the Red Cross, so call 509-687-3222 to have your smoke alarm replaced.
