Chelan County Sheriff's Sergeant Rob Huddleston says getting a report of a bank robbery happens frequently, but are usually false alarms, usually caused by a teller accidentally tripping the alarm. But last Thursday right next door to us at WaFd Bank, the real thing. But Huddleston says when they arrived, it looked lijke another false alarm:
Huddleston says the suspect, 34-year-old Michael Koehnen, had just gotten out of jail early last week. Now, with some pretty serious robbery and theft charges against him, looks like he'll be going back for a while.
By the way, Huddleston says they were able to recover all the money taken in the robbery – except for one hundred dollars, which Koehnen told police he gave to someone walking down the street.
