HIGHER FEES COVER THE COSTS FOR CITY OF CHELAN

The City of Chelan has been raising fees over the last year or so on everything from youth programs to parking fees at Don Morse Park. City Administrator Wade Farris was asked about the higher fees, and he said the city isn't making any money from them:



Councilman Tim Hollingsworth mentioned that fees on youth programs have essentially been doubled, but revenues for those programs are augmented by other recreation fees:



Farris says the city's insurance costs are factored in the fees as well; he says insurance companies have informed the city that their rates will be going up 25 percent.
