Almost three-quarters of a million dollars will be distributed among 43 non-profits in the Methow Valley. That's the results of this year's “Give Methow” online campaign put on each October on by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.
Give Methow is open to any 501c3 nonprofit or fiscally sponsored organization located within the Methow Valley. A minimum donation of ten dollars enables community members to be philanthropists. Because the Community Foundation covers all the credit card fees not paid by donors, 100% of the donations go directly to the nonprofits.
Among the top recipients, Room One Topped the list, receiving 53-thousand dollars. 45-thousand dollars went to the Methow Housing Trust. The Methow Valley Citizen's Council got more than 41-thousand, almost 38-thousand went to the Methow Conservancy, Aero Methow Rescue Services comes away with 37-thousand, and 35-thousand dollars goes to the Little Star School.
As for the donations, donations to the “Give to All” pool provided a substantial bonus gift for each organization. An anonymous donor provided a $40,000 matching gift for Give to All, the Community Foundation added $10,000, and a $50,000 challenge gift was offered when the campaign reached $550,000. Those, along with additional gifts, grew the Give to All pool to more than 143-thousand dollars which was shared equally among all participating organizations, providing an extra 33-hundred dollars to each organization.
