FEDERAL CHARGES AWAIT ALLEGED FENTANYL DEALERS

Federal charges have been made against two alleged fentanyl dealers who arre accused of trafficking the drugs in the Wenatchee Valley. 29 year old Matthew Dylan Hendricks and 36 year old Shawn J Drummond will now face those charges in the Eastern District Court in Spokane. Columbia River Drug Task Force detectives issued a search warrant on December 8th at Drummond's East Wenatchee residence, where they found 8,000 fentanyl pills and 19.7 grams of heroin. Detectives said in court documents that Drummond was a high-level fentanyl dealer and believed it was the largest drug seizure they had ever seen. Last week Drummond had his first federal court hearing at was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl. He denied all charges, and will now have a preliminary hearing and status hearing on Februrary 23rd at 1:30PM.

Meanwhile, last November Dylan Hendricks was arrested in a Rock Island body shop, where detectives found just under 1000 fentanyl pills, 24.4 grams of meth and over $2,600 in cash. He was federally indicted back in December for Possession with Intent to Distribute 40 grams or more of Fentanyl, and with forfeiture allegations. He'll face a jury trial on March 20th. In both cases, local charges were dropped to make way for the federal charges to be brought against the two. Others arrested in charged in Chelan and Douglas County courts in the alleged drug distribution scheme are 39 year old Caleb Ryan Ritz, 34 year old Kasey Calvin Cooper and 32 year old Casey McKinstry.
