Police have apprehended a suspect involved in a recent gunfire incident near Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee, where two teenagers were targeted. The suspect, identified as Klysman Cabrejo Quesada, an 18-year-old from Connell, is currently in custody at the Chelan County jail. Authorities have placed him under suspicion for assault, drive-by shooting, and unlawful firearm possession. According to investigators, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Tuesday when Cabrejo allegedly stepped out of a gray Toyota Corolla on Fifth Street Northeast, close to the high school, and fired five shots at the teenagers, who were walking on foot. No one was injured during the incident.
The whole episode was captured on surveillance cameras in the vicinity, and police were able to recover nine-millimeter bullet casings from the scene. The collaborative efforts of East Wenatchee police, along with their counterparts in Franklin County, led to the successful arrest of Cabrejo on Thursday. Witnesses reported that Cabrejo allegedly shouted gang slogans during the shooting. Erik Hampton, assistant police chief of East Wenatchee, says that as of now, he has not been formally charged, and the case remains under active investigation.
