The Chelan City Council heard an update of the grant funding process at their workshop on Tuesday. City Administrator Wade Farris said a lot of groundwork has been laid over the last few months:
Earlier this year, the city contracted with Ardurra, an infrastructure services company, to find grants. Annalisa Noble is the Funding Specialist Lead for Ardurra, and the one doing the groundwork for the city; she says she'll be meeting with officials from the State Ecology Department next week to discuss various projects, she says Ecology will be awarding grants later this year:
Other grant opportunities for the city Noble will be exploring include affordable housing grants from the Department of Commerce, infrastructure grants from the Public Works Board, as well as street and transportation grants from the Transportation Infrastructure Board.
