CONTINENTAL SURF CUP THIS WEEKEND

This weekend is promising to be a busy weekend at Slidewaters, for it's the last weekend of the season there, but it'll be an even bigger weekend at Lakeside Surf, for it's the Continental Surf Cup there. The best river surfers from Europe are here to face off against the best from the USA. Robert Bordner, the owner of Lakeside Surf, says Team Europe is already here to start practicing:

Last year, Team Europe narrowly took the crown in the first annual competition, which will be held at Lakeside Surf for at least the next five years. Bordner says river surfing is an addictive sport which is fun to watch, and not only for the fans:

Now, the best part for spectators is that watching the competition is free, doesn't cost anything. And it starts with practices tonight:

And after that they'll let the surfers have fun on the waves, so if you want to stay later and watch that, you're free to. Bordner also says they've commissioned a UK trophy builder to craft a new Continental Surf Cup, Bordner says it's a way to raise the bar on what the surfers are competing for. That's this Saturday and Sunday at Lakeside Surf.
