COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPACTS OF SMOKE TO BE DISCUSSED

There's an event on Thursday that aims to educate people about the dangers of wildfire smoke on human health. It's called the No Community Left Behind: Fire-Wise and Smoke Readiness Workshop, it's at the Pybus Public Market Event Center in Wenatchee Thursday at 4 p.m.

Topics discussed will include the impact of smoke on health, wildfire evacuation protocols and emergency alert systems. Local and State agencies will also be on hand, providing resources including reusable masks with particle-filtering capabilities, for use during heavy smoke days.

If you're unable to attend in person, the workshop will be live-streamed at the Chelan Fire Hall at 232 East Wapato Street.

The event is sponsored by the Chelan County Climate Resilience Round Table, a governmental board comprising community stakeholders, governmental and non-governmental agencies.
