CITY SETS CONTRACT WITH BERGER PARTNERSHIP

At the most recent Chelan City Council meeting, the council approved an agreement with Berger Partnership to develop a design for the Chelan Gorge Community Park, also known as the baseball fields near the Senior Center. Much of the council comment revolved around the methods of receiving public comment. Parks Director Paul Horne was asked about a possible kiosk at the park to get people's ideas:

Councilmember Erin McArdle said the amount of check-ins Bergen was planning with the council was, in her words, vague, and being more specific about that was one of two things she wanted addressed:

Horne said there would be no problem with any of that; McArdle then made the motion to approve the contract. Bergen's being paid $108,000 for their work, 100,000 of that comes from the Chelan County PUD grant to craft a master plan for the park. The rest is coming from the city.
