We reported yesterday (Wed) that the Chelan County Sheriff's Office has been in talks with the City of Chelan about getting rid of cars parked on the city right of way so that plows can come in and get rid of the snow. As of Tuesday, we've had snow for two months now, and plows can't properly take care of the snow because of the cars parked illegally on the city right of way. City Administrator Wade Farris says parking has always been an issue, but with the snow, Farris says it's time to crack down:
But Farris says that's only the short-term solution:
Farris says the intent is not to ticket or to tow cars away, but if the tickets are ignored, they'll start towing. And a tow is not inexpensive, anywhere from 250 to 500 dollars, depending on the towing service used.
