At Tuesday's City Council meeting, Maribel Cruz with the Seven Acres Foundation gave council members an update on the construction of the Community Center at Lake Chelan, which she says is humming right along:
Cruz also came with her hand out, so to speak, asking the council to reconsider a request for funding that was made last summer, for 189-thousand dollars in American Rescue Program funding to finance the installation of a children's play area that would be located near the front entrance of the center:
All of the council was in favor of granting the money, but there was uncertainty of how much the city would have available, with a large slice of the city's ARP money slated for the Chelan Valley Housing Trust's Anderson Road project. Cruz was hoping for a decision within a couple of months, the council said they'd look at the matter again in a month.
