The city of Chelan is working on getting project “Shovel-Ready” for whatever grants might come their way. Councilman John Olson:

City Administrator Wade Farris says the city is working on planning grants for infrastructure, he says the city has learned over the past couple of years that it needs to be ready should they get a call from someone with a grant for a shovel-ready project. Farris says the other aspect of grants is working directly with a state or federal agency:

Farris says the city looks very closely at grants, particularly grant amounts and the match the city must come up with, but also the restrictions the grants come with.
