The City of Chelan is getting a handle on records management. The city has been working on it for several years, and has gotten to the point of organizing, tranfer and disposition of city records. Last month, the City Council approved a contract with MG Consulting Services to help with all that. Megan Gregor worked with City Clerk Peri Galucci on the project, and explained the progress they've made to the council at the most recent meeting, including sending 20 boxes of documents to the state archives, and taking more than 100 boxes of unneeded documents to the shredder. Gregor was asked when the city will have its records completely digitized; Gregor said Chelan is farther along than a lot of cities, but she added there can be no real completion date:
Gregor and Galucci were next to start on records dealing with public works, building and planning records, as well as golf and parks records.
